Madrid Golf Travel Guide

Your fastest tool to sell golf in a world-class capital.

There’s a reason Madrid works so well for agencies that close.

✓ A cluster of top courses within 15–45 minutes of the city (Retamares, Centro Nacional, Golf Santander + 12 courses more).
City hotels & boutique stays your clients know by name—plus private dining, rooftops and easy group logistics.
Door-to-door transfers and a major air/rail hub (MAD + AVE).
✓ A long playing season with “golf in the morning, city in the afternoon.”

And yet… many agents lose Madrid. Why?
Because without shortcuts—tee times, transfers, day-off plans—the proposal slows down and the client drifts.

This guide fixes that.

“Quick facts?” → Yes. Clear, short, straight to the point.
“Rates?” → Yes. Net rates + add 25%.
“Is it updated?” → Always. Fresh, never old.

Madrid is one of Europe’s most exciting capitals — and also a golf destination in its own right. The city combines championship courses with culture, gastronomy and vibrant nightlife, making it an easy sell for golfers and non-golfers alike.

The 3 main courses for international players:

  • Golf Santander – Designed by Rees Jones, a tour-level experience.

  • Centro Nacional de Golf – Home of the Spanish Golf Federation and the Spanish Open.

Accommodation: A wide range of hotels from 5★ classics in the city center to modern options near the courses. Most are available via bed banks, which makes packaging easy for agencies.

Transfers: Taxis are often the most efficient and economical choice for small groups. For larger groups or premium service, private vans can be arranged.

When to go: Madrid’s dry climate offers golf year-round. With more than 2,700 hours of sunshine annually, the high season runs March–June and September–November. July is the hottest, while January and February are coolest but still playable.

Beyond golf: Clients can combine championship golf with world-class museums (Prado, Reina Sofía), football at the Santiago Bernabéu, tapas tours, shopping, and vibrant nightlife.

Madrid is not just a stopover — it’s a complete golf-and-city experience.

All rates are net with taxes included. Please add  rack rates indicated.

“Do you only sell golf?” → Yes. Golf breaks are our focus.
“Which courses can I book?” → I provide you net rates in Santander, Centro Nacional. Others on request via DMC.

“What about transfers?” → We arrange private cars or vans. Or simply take a taxi — often faster, often cheaper.
“First time sending clients?” → You must sign the official contracting rates.
“Already contracted before?” → You’re ready to go.

Clear. Simple. No grey areas.

How will my clients arrive?

Smooth and simple. Always.

Which airport? → Adolfo Suarez Madrid-Barajas, 4 terminals.
“Is T4 far?” → Connected, but separate from T1–T3. Easy transfers.
“Any high-speed train?” → Yes. AVE direct from Málaga, Barcelona, Sevilla.
“Clients coming from the US or Latin America?” → Perfect hub. They land in Madrid, then add another golf city by AVE.
What about taxis?” → Always available. Fast, reliable, and often cheaper than private transfers.

Your clients don’t want “options.”
They want “seamless.”
And Madrid delivers that every time.

Golf in Madrid – Quick Orientation

“Too many hotels?” → Yes, but focus is simple: central 4★ and 5★. Easy access, easy taxis.
“Golf far away?” → No. Santander, Centro Nacional, Moraleja and many others — all within 30 minutes.
“Need golf packages?” → Madrid is golf-break first. Hotels are rack rates, but we help you combine.
“Transfers complicated?” → Not at all. Taxi is fastest and cheapest. Private drivers only if you want extra service.
“Clients want more than golf?” → This is Madrid. Museums, Bernabéu, tapas, nightlife, shopping — no other golf city offers this mix.

Every doubt has a shortcut.
Every question has a counter.
That’s golf in Madrid.

Flexible. Always.

“Do you work with one hotel only?” → No. Madrid is wide open.
“Any special golf hotel?” → Not one. Many options fit.
“So how do we book hotels?” → You can do it via your bedbanks, or we help you with rack rates.
“Need full service?” → We can manage it through a DMC (with commission already included).
“And transfers?” → Easy. Taxi is fast and often cheaper. Private transfers on request.

Your clients don’t want “lists.”
They want “solutions.”
And Madrid gives both.

Golf in Madrid

Three courses. Three stories.
All within 30 minutes of the city.

One is ranked among Spain’s best… but few outside know how close it really is.
Another is where Jon Rahm made history… and clients still ask to walk the same fairways.
The third is members-only… but your clients get access few ever do.

Different vibes, different price points…
And the mix is exactly what makes Madrid golf breaks so easy to sell.

Golf Santander

Twenty minutes from downtown.
Designed by Rees Jones.
A driving range bigger than most clubs, night golf under the lights.
Prestige that feels international — and local at the same time.

Centro Nacional

The official home of Spanish golf.
Jon Rahm’s Spanish Open win in 2018 put it on the global map.
Federation HQ, Top Tracer, high-performance academy.
And soon: new residences. Madrid’s national golf stage keeps evolving.

“How long from hotel to course?” → Between 20 and 45 minutes, depending on the hour.

“Traffic problem?” → Not really. Madrid goes into the city in the morning. Your golfers go out. Usually no jams.

“Best hotel choice for groups?” → Always pick one where the coach can park easily. Saves time, saves stress.

“Rush hours to avoid?” → Around 9:00 am and 6:30 pm. Outside those slots, smooth.

“Private or taxi?” → Groups: private coaches.
Couples or 2 pax: fixed-rate taxis. Faster, cheaper, always available.

Madrid transfers: straightforward, predictable, cost-effective.

Golf is the excuse. Madrid is the lifestyle.

Tapas in La Latina.
Michelin stars in Salamanca.
Rooftop cocktails at sunset.
Flamenco until late.
Football at the Santiago Bernabéu.
Day trips to Toledo, Segovia, or Ávila.

When golfers ask “what if my partner doesn’t play?” → Madrid has the answer.

“Are they updated?” → Fresh. Current.
“Do they sell without words?” →Of course.

Because pictures close faster than PDFs.
And here you’ve got the good ones.
