Casa de Campo Resort Map: 70 Metres to Teeth of the Dog, 4.6 Kilometres to Dye Fore

Casa de Campo Resort Map: 70 Metres to Teeth of the Dog, 4.6 Kilometres to Dye Fore

Seventy metres. That is the distance from the hotel rooms to the first tee at Teeth of the Dog.

Dye Fore is 4.6 kilometres away, off a different clubhouse, at the other end of the resort.

If you sell Casa de Campo® and you did not have those two numbers, your client will find them before you do. Usually on the morning of the round, when the buggy takes longer than anyone expected.

This is the interactive map I use in presentations, opened up. Under it, the distances that decide whether an itinerary holds together or unravels on arrival.

The interactive Casa de Campo resort map

Satellite view, 29 locations, 65 photographs and 16 videos taken on the property. Click a category to switch it on or off. Type a villa name, a zone or “oceanfront” into the search box and it will find it among the 98 villas.

It works on a phone, and it works projected on a wall in front of a client.

Why “how big is it?” is the wrong question

Casa de Campo® covers 7,000 acres behind a single gated entrance. That figure appears in every brochure and it tells you almost nothing useful.

The number that changes your work is a different one: 6 kilometres. That is the span from the main gate to Altos de Chavón, the two furthest points on the map.

Because Casa de Campo® is not one resort with facilities scattered around it. It is three separate cores, each with its own restaurants, its own atmosphere and its own reason to be there. Guests move between them in the four-seat golf cart that comes with the room.

Once you see the three cores, the questions your client asks stop being awkward.

Casa de Campo is three cores, not one resort

1. The hotel core: golf and spa inside one kilometre

This is where the rooms are: Premier, Elite Rooms & Suites, Casita Rooms, the Premier Club Lounge and the Presidential Suite. It is also where the golf lives.

From the rooms it is 70 metres to Teeth of the Dog, 460 metres to the Golf Learning Center and 630 metres to The Links. The Spa is 130 metres away. The Shooting Club and the polo fields are under a kilometre.

A client staying here can walk to the first tee with a coffee in hand. That is worth saying out loud when you present it, because almost no resort of this size can claim it.

2. The sea: Minitas Beach and the Marina

Minitas Beach is 1.9 kilometres from the hotel core, with its beach club, its restaurant and the Coco Bar on the sand.

Marina Casa de Campo® is further along at 3.7 kilometres: a Mediterranean-style harbour with shops, cinemas, restaurants and the resort’s nightlife. La Casita and CAUSA are both here.

Beach and marina are 1.8 kilometres apart, so they are two separate evenings.

3. Chavón: Dye Fore and Altos de Chavón

This is the core most agents miss, and the one that produces the best day of the trip.

Dye Fore runs along the cliffs above the Chavón river: 27 holes across three nines, Chavón, Marina and Lagos, with seven holes dropping to the water below. It is 4.6 kilometres from the hotel.

Write this one into the itinerary: Altos de Chavón is 190 metres from Dye Fore. A recreated sixteenth-century Mediterranean village, built in stone, with an open-air amphitheatre, galleries and its own restaurants, La Piazzetta and Chilango Taquería among them.

Round at Dye Fore in the morning, dinner in the village at night, and nobody crosses the resort twice. Sell it as one block and it reads as though you have been there.

How far is each golf course from the hotel?

Measured point to point from the coordinates on the map above. By cart or road the real figure runs slightly longer, but the order and the scale hold.

Three courses, three clubhouses: where tee times go wrong

Teeth of the Dog, The Links and Dye Fore do not start from the same clubhouse. This is the single most common operational mistake on a Casa de Campo® itinerary.

A group that reads “09:00 tee time” and assumes it leaves from the building next to breakfast will be late for Dye Fore. Four and a half kilometres of resort sit in between, and the caddie is waiting at the other end.

Write the clubhouse next to every tee time, not just the course name. It costs you one line and it saves the round.

Where the villas sit, and why it changes your quote

Casa de Campo® has around a hundred private villas spread across the property in named zones: Punta Minitas by the sea, Costa Mar, and more than thirty others inland and along the fairways.

A villa is not simply a bigger room. Its zone decides how the week actually feels. A villa in Punta Minitas puts the sea at the door and the golf a few minutes away. A villa deep inside the resort means every breakfast, every tee time and every dinner is a cart ride.

Neither is worse. But a client who wanted to walk to the first tee and ends up eight minutes from it will remember that, and they will tell you rather than the resort.

The map does not pin all hundred villas, because a hundred pins would bury the resort. Search a villa by name, by zone or by “oceanfront” and it appears, with a link straight through to its photographs.

Can you play La Romana Country Club?

Not with a standard resort booking, and this one is worth knowing before a client asks.

La Romana Country Club is a private 27-hole club inside the property. Visitors must be accompanied by a member to play. It is the only golf at Casa de Campo® that does not come with a resort stay, so keep it out of the itinerary unless the member is already arranged.

The three courses you can sell are Teeth of the Dog, Dye Fore and The Links. Teeth of the Dog opened in 1971, has seven holes directly on the Caribbean and has held the number one ranking in the region for decades. The Learning Center adds night golf with LED balls, which sells itself to a group that lands in the afternoon.

How to use this map with a client on the phone

If you have ever asked a supplier how far the villa is from the first tee, you were doing the job properly. Most people never ask, and their clients find out on arrival.

That is the whole reason this map is public. You should not have to defend a resort you have never walked through by improvising.

Open it while you are talking. Search the villa your client is considering. Show them Dye Fore on the cliff and Altos de Chavón beside it. The question stops being “what is it really like?” and becomes “when can we go?”.

Frequently asked questions

How far is Teeth of the Dog from the hotel at Casa de Campo?

Around 70 metres. The first tee is walking distance from the Premier and Elite rooms in the hotel core.

How far is Dye Fore from the Casa de Campo hotel?

About 4.6 kilometres. Dye Fore sits above the Chavón river at the eastern end of the resort and starts from its own clubhouse, so tee times need travel time built in.

How many golf courses does Casa de Campo have?

Three are available with a resort stay: Teeth of the Dog (18 holes), The Links (18 holes) and Dye Fore (27 holes). A fourth, La Romana Country Club, is private and requires a member to accompany you.

How do guests get around Casa de Campo?

By golf cart. A four-seat cart comes with the room, and the resort’s internal roads connect the hotel core, Minitas Beach, the Marina and Altos de Chavón. The furthest two points on the map are about 6 kilometres apart.

Is Altos de Chavón inside the resort?

Yes. It is part of Casa de Campo®, 4.7 kilometres from the hotel core and 190 metres from Dye Fore, which is why a round there and dinner in the village work as a single day.

Rates and availability

Green fees, rooms and villas move with the date, the season and the size of the group, so there is no useful number to publish here. Tell me the dates and the pax and you get the real one, confirmed against tee times that exist.

I represent Casa de Campo® Resort & Villas commercially in Europe and Asia, which means one email instead of four suppliers. Write to send me a message and I will come back with rates and a proposal your client can read.
